Prefuse 73 - Security Screenings
Security Screenings is a collection of intricate instrumental material that this man is celebrated for. Sun skewed, close-to-the-edit hip hop warmth blessed with the earthy sounds of early 70's Jazz. Prefuse explains: 'its a collection of songs based on reactions to certain things that happened through the course of doing press, touring, and recording for the past year or so.'
An absolute gem of a record. One of the few who is pushing the genre forward into new brighter pastures.

Remarc - Unreleased Dubs 94-96
Remarc puts you in the middle of a warzone.
Remarc continues with another selection of his work from the golden age of jungle, 1994-1996. This time it's tracks that never saw full release for one reason or another and in case you didn't know, Remarc likes a little bit of the Amen break.
This superb jungle could save the world... and possibly make me dance my tits off!

Venetian Snares - My So Called Life
Aaron Funk shows no sign of easing up in his noise-banging career - as realised in this Venetian Snares album - the beats are toppling and the amen-breaks are just as raw as they ever were. And so they should be. 'My So Called Life' will not leave the most heavy hitting snare junkies feeling short changed. Recommended.
That is all.

Warp Vision (The Videos 1989 - 2004)
Video directors can create twisted pictures from the blandest of pop tunes, so if the music comes from the Warp label, you know you're in for a pretty fucked up ride. Aphex Twin doesn't sound like he's dreaming of idyllic situations in Come to Daddy, what with the screams of "I want your soul ", but who could have dreamed up a group of children, all with Aphex's bearded face, welcoming a slimy Nosferatu-type creature who climbs out of a TV set to shout your grandma's head off?
It could only be Chris Cunningham. His videos for Aphex and Squarepusher (including the full-length cut of Windowlicker, and the amazingly synchronised Come on My Selector) are perhaps the most infamous in this collection, but going down the ages of Warp, there are plenty of other takes, including videos by Jarvis Cocker (for Nightmares on Wax), Alex Rutterford (Autechre), Ed Holdsworth (Prefuse 73), Lynn Fox (Chris Clark)and many others in this 32-track collection. It comes with a bonus CD mix of Warp tracks by Buddy Peace and Zilla.
A touch of darkness, when all around is light.

Luke Vibert - Yoseph
YosepH, Luke Vibert's debut album for Warp. An addictive batch of fresh acid, wrought with much love from a collection of vintage analogue synths and polished with the meticulous Vibert production glow and pHat bottom end. One from my younger days, and love every fucking minute of it. Enjoy.
