Increasingly critical of the hardcore scene they'd helped to spawn, duo George Evelyn and Kevin Harper countered dance music's 'heavy mental' tendencies by lacing their debut album with delicious doses of hip-hop and electronic soul. "Imagine a world where rap and house were one, two sides of the same three pound note. Nightmares on Wax attitude is slightly different to other DJs-turned-musicmakers: sure, they're hardcore at times but they're mellow too.
Their instrumental hip hop is compelling, mysterious. Their samples are a shade different.
